3D Modeling
ÆSIR has participated in several significant 3D modeling projects for its various clients. StructureCraft had ÆSIR join them in the design of the Lafayette Library in San Francisco, California. The components of this building were manufactured in Vancouver, BC and shipped to San Francisco for final assembly where precise fit was a must. Bubble Technology requested ÆSIR's aid in the modeling of their homeland security bomb detector systems. Here, extremely tight fit of components required accurate modeling of the complete assembly. Seprotech used ÆSIR's advanced 3D modeling expertise in the design of the River Walk water treatment plant in Manotick, Ontario. Med Eng Systems contracted ÆSIR to produce 3D animations of field assembly videos for products that had not yet been manufactured.
CADD Standards
Nothing says fresh like a crisp company title block. ÆSIR has helped several clients modernize their CADD standards and company title blocks to include the latest methodologies. Among these clients are Industry Canada, Heritage Canada, uOttawa, and Hydro Ottawa. In the case of PWGSC, we did not contribute to the new title blocks, but were contracted over 14 months to develop the National Capital Area - Operations Block Symbol Library. This library contains hundreds of blocks with thousands of possible variations. It will be mandated for most PWGSC projects in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, as well as for the territory of Nunavut, and it is likely that other areas may follow.
CADD Cleanup and File Management
ÆSIR is sometimes called upon to help clean out the cobwebs in archives of old CADD files. Bringing electronic files up to snuff can be a daunting task. Standards may have changed, and not every previous CADD user might have had an appropriate level of attention to detail. Not to worry, we can help here too. Clients in this area have included Industry Canada, uOttawa RPS Grounds and Hydro Ottawa Ltd. In Hydro Ottawa's case, ÆSIR was involved in the correction of literally thousands of drawings over a four year period, providing employment for up to four full-time employees.
